In a new video posted by Vogue, fresh faced beauty Drew Barrymore shares her personal makeup tips and tricks as she gets ready for the day.
The 41 year old actress and founder of Flower Beauty begins with her most crucial step: washing her hands.
“Always want to start with clean hands, no matter what,” she advises as she lathers up under the faucet.”
You might be surprised to find out that Barrymore’s foundation, perfect for busy bees on the go like herself, is only $9 and can be purchased at your local Walmart.
“I usually don’t have any time to do my makeup. I love the Skincognito stick for that.”
Next, she takes another item by Flower, the Glisten up Highlighter which comes as a self-sharpening jumbo crayon.
“The highlighter is kind of always (applied) where you picture light reflecting.”
She applies this product on a round kabuki brush, and dusts it across her cheekbones, forehead, on the cupid’s bow, and down the nose for a bit of a naturally lighted look. Applying a bit right under the browbone gives your brows a “little lift,” she says.
“Who doesn’t want great cheekbones, right?” Barrymore asks as she applies a few light strokes of bronzer to the sides of her face.
After a slight touch of rosy blush, the actress reveals her ultimate secret for fresh, glowing skin. She takes Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream ($28) onto the tips of her fingers, tapping them together to warm up the product. She uses that same tapping motion to evenly distribute the cream onto her face.
“It does something that even a highlighter can’t do.”
For a fun pop of color, Barrymore first lines her lips with a magenta shade, and fills them in with a pink By Terry lipstick, which she then also dabs onto the apples of her cheeks.
“I always just put a little bit of my lipstick on my cheeks so that there’s sort of a correlation of color,” she explains.
Barrymore sets her face in place with a mineral powder, which she purposely saves for last. She says this way, she can spot any redness peeking through and do a quick touch-up for a flawless finish.
To end off her look she sweeps Dior Diorshow Mascara onto the upper and lower lashline.
“It is my dream if Flower beauty continues that one day my daughters will want to work on it. They live for makeup,” the hopeful mom adds.
