Makeup artists and hair stylists usually create one look for all models at a fashion show, but the Maison Margiela’s Haute Couture show was unlike any typical fashion show. It was different, it was creative and totally unexpected. Pat Mcgrath’s unleashed her creativity on each model for each look. The makeup technique was different and it included non-traditional elements; she added fabrics, textures, finishes, along with cutouts and layered pieces. Mcgrath’s technique was modern, yet abstract and very avant-garde, but it went really well with the collection and made it very cohesive. The entire show just went so well together, as if the guests were at an art gallery and a fashion show at the same time.
