That’s right! MAC makeup will soon be headed to an Ulta location near you!
Ulta Beauty surprised many cosmetics lovers when they posted a picture on Instagram yesterday featuring MAC makeup, a brand they do not currently sell.
MAC, which is short for Make-up Art Cosmetics, is a prestige makeup brand that currently is only available for purchase online and in department stores such as Macy’s or Nordstrom rather than at a beauty retailer like Sephora or Ulta. The change comes as MAC experiences a drop in US sales, and hopes that pushing the brand into the beauty store will draw more attention to products, and gain more business.
The brand will initially begin its run at Ulta online at their website, www.ulta.com.
In addition, if you have visited a mall MAC counter recently, you might have noticed a section of smaller, cheaper versions of well-loved products such as eyeshadow pigments, lip glosses and mascaras. These travel-sized items are a way for new customers to try out products without having to break bank on a larger version. These mini items will also be available at Ulta for purchase.
Though MAC will receive a large space to sell the makeup, only about 45% of their products will fit on shelves. Expect customer favorites, such as MAC’s famous black bullet-cased lipsticks, foundations, and eyeshadows.
Creating your own bespoke eyes has never been easier. These well-edited Eyes x9 and Eyes x15 palettes feature a wave of coordinated hues offering countless combinations. From iconic neutrals to smoky browns and frosty metallic – it’s a gorgeous sight to behold! Available online and in stores now, in select markets! #EyesOnMAC
The MAC global president, Karen Buglisi Weiler, predicts that by the year’s end, the brand will be available to purchase at over 100 Ulta Beauty locations.
