Maybe some people thought that makeup legend, Pat McGrath, had reached her peak when she one the “Founder’s Award” at the CFDA Awards last week. Those people were wrong. Becoming the first makeup artist to receive the “Founder’s Award,” was only another amazing step in her career. Earlier this week, McGrath and her company Pat McGrath Labs announced a new line of matte lipsticks. The line is called Lust: MatteTrance.
What is so special about this line? Well, it has been called the perfect matte lipstick.
“We’d make the perfect matte, and it felt like concrete. Or we’d come up with something that was super comfortable, and it would look oily. So it was just that search for the ultimate matte that was comfortable, but then at the same time gave that feel that you’ve seen in all of my editorials. Our mattes are really bright, but not really masking the beautiful natural texture of your own lip.”
Pat McGrath has also paid attention to every detail when it comes to this new lipstick line. The colors have been carefully chosen, but also even the appearance of the lipstick tube itself has been carefully designed. Each shade comes in a lipstick tube in the form of black and gold bullet with gold lips popping out on the front. Lust: MatteTrance will also have three different sets of colors; Skin Show (the nude set), Color Blitz (the bright set), and Vicious Venoms (the dark set).
