Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have released their first joint statement since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce in September.
According to the statement, the former couple agree to keep all court documents involving their divorce private in order to protect their children.
“The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues. The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification.”
Authorities investigated allegations that Pitt was abusive toward his 15-year-old son on a private flight, but sources familiar with the cases said the actor was cleared of any wrongdoing.
Angelina, 41, strongly disputes his claims, instead alleging in court documents that the actor only made the accusations out of fear, because he is ‘terrified that the public will learn the truth’
Both actors have kept a low profile since their breakup was announced, until Pitt made an appearance onstage at Sunday’s Golden Globes.
