Seth Meyers took the time to discuss Trump’s travel ban during “A Closer Look”.

Meyers considers the executive order as “cruel and unnecessary”. Thousands of Americans who showed up to airports this weekend to protest the ban completely agree.

While the ban is cruel, there is also a very serious part to it that Meyers spoke to his audience about while remaining comical. The “sloppy and confusing order” caught many off guard. He added a clip from a news segment where one woman discussed what she was told at the airport when she asked officials for information on the ban.

“One said ‘no your family won’t be able to get in’, another one said, ‘Iran is not our friend’, and another one said ‘I haven’t watched the news what’s going on?”

As Meyers continued, he grew serious and said, “It’s only been a week, but the Trump administration has already revealed itself to be a government of incompetent authoritarians with nothing but contempt for many of the basic constitutional principles this country has cherished since its founding.”
