Tom Hiddleston won the Golden Globes for the role in The Night Manager. When accepting the award the speech he made didn’t go too well with the critics. It’s understandable that everybody is nervous and under pressure when accepting these awards. Sometimes might even say things that won’t make much sense.
The speech started off really well with him talking about the philanthropic work that he’s been doing in South Sudan. Personally, I thought he was gonna go and promote the cause, encouraging people to donate and help but boy was I wrong. The speech basically ended with Tom saying that the aid workers loved his show and binge watched it.

Tom went to Facebook to write a post and explain himself saying:
“I just wanted to say… I completely agree that my speech at the Golden Globes last night was inelegantly expressed. In truth, I was very nervous, and my words just came out wrong. Sincerely, my only intention was to salute the incredible bravery and courage of the men and women who work so tirelessly for UNICEF UK, Doctors Without Borders/ Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), and World Food Programme, and the children of South Sudan, who continue to find hope and joy in the most difficult conditions. I apologized that my nerves got the better of me.”
