Apple Music now has a new TV show, a reality series showing app developers competing for new investment dollars. It’s called Planet of the Apps.
In a newly released trailer, app developers pitch their ideas to a panel of judges.
Apple Music has casted a few celebrities for the new series including Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow and Will.i.am. The judges will choose which developers to mentor and then help them get ready for a big meeting with a venture capitalist.
The show is expected to drop sometime in the spring before Apple’s second original series, Carpool Karaoke.
“We’re not out trying to buy a bunch of shows,” Apple executive Eddy Cue said at Recode’s Code Media conference. “We’re trying to do some things we think are creative and can move culture and we think that Apple can add some value to. They wouldn’t be as good if we weren’t involved,” he added.
