Florida Georgia Line members Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley are not shy about their admiration for 90’s boyband The Backstreet Boys. In fact, the duo have taken to performing a Backstreet Boys song at most of their concerts to pay tribute. Where does the obsession come from for FGL? The Backstreet Boys was actually the first concert Brian Kelley ever went to and the first album Tyler Hubbard ever bought! Discussing their sentimental attachment to the boyband on stage, Hubbard adorably announced,
“I love the Backstreet Boys. Sometimes I think that we are the Backstreet Boys!”
Needless to say, fans always go wild for Hubbard and Kelley’s on point cover of the 1997 hit ‘Everybody’ that they so often do at concerts. Little did they know, these fun moments were foreshadowing a future collaboration with the two bands! Florida Georgia Line and The Backstreet Boys have just released their official music video for their new song “God, Your Mama, and Me.”
The video for the love song is an adorable inside look at the sweet and intimate everyday moments of each band member’s relationship with their wives. Video director TK McKamy not only pulled videos from their personal archives, but even had the guys wear Go-Pros in order to capture authentic moments. Each moment pairs perfectly with the chorus, which sings “No one’s ever gonna love you more than God, your mama, and me.”
The single is the third chart-rising track from FGL’s new album Dig Your Roots. Commenting on the success of the song, Backstreet Boys’ AJ Mclean shared,
“It turned out to be a smash and [we] couldn’t be happier, they’ve been a huge inspiration to us and vice versa. Hopefully we can do a lot more with these guys.”
