The fifth installment in the Blockbuster franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, was presented during the second day of CinemaCon at Ceasar’s Palace. Much to everyone’s surprise, the film was well received by exhibitors and critics.
Although the screening of the film began 30 minutes late, it’s tardiness played no part in how it was received. Dave Hollis, Disney’s distribution chief, gave a brief on the franchise’s past success at earning over $3.7 billion combined, since the release of the first film, Curse of The Black Pearl in 2003. The premiere did not include, however, the stars of the film, which seemed to focus more on it’s premiere and held its merit.
So, some members of the press got to see Pirates 5 last night at #CinemaCon2017 and most are sayings it's the best since 1.

Dead Men Tell No Tales features Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow on a new adventure, facing a ghost of his past, Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem) and his crew of dead. Sparrow is joined by new characters, Carina (Kaya Scodelario) and Henry (Brenthon Thwaites) as they fight the ghostly sailors who have escaped the Devil’s Triangle. Orlando Bloom’s Will Turner, is also said to make an iconic return to the film.
From the looks of things, Dead Men Tell No Tales will be another Blockbuster for the record books. The film is set to premiere May 29th. Of course, there is nothing like starting your summer with an exciting film, especially one gaining such rave reviews!
