The fashion designer starts off by saying that her employees don’t work for her, but they instead, work together to finish tasks and projects. She said, “It’s about empowering your team. Yes, it’s about being firm, but it’s also about allowing them to be free, especially when you work in a creative industry. If you empower people and make them feel like the best version of themselves, that’s how people give you their best work.” It has become an essential in her company, especially in a creative industry.

During the livestream, Beckham and a candidate from Estee Lauder said that it is of upmost importance to be a boss that is collaborative and that being feminine as well as a leader is the better combination.

Being a woman and owning or part of a business is much harder. Beckham said, “There are a lot of women who are in a business or who want to start a business that have a family. You can’t underestimate how hard it is for a woman to juggle having that family and also working.” In the working industry that have been mainly dominated by men, there has been a lot of pressure to succeed.

Towards the end of the interview, it concludes with how far women have come together and how vital it is to keep going. Like so many things in life, one of the main ideas throughout the entire segment is that this is not the finished product. This is work in progress set to keep improving.
