It was an emotional homecoming for model Karlie Kloss who debuted a limited Express collection Thursday night at The Pageant. Kloss launched her first co-designed collection in the same place she walked her first runway 13 years ago.
“There’s no better place for it — there’s no place like home!” Kloss said backstage before the show. “All of my friends, family, family friends and teachers, classmates, everybody — all of St. Louis is coming out tonight, and they’re so proud. I’m so proud to share this with them.”
Kloss and Express selected a group of young women to walk the runway in the collection through an Instagram contest. Applicants uploaded videos and said how they live their best life and empower others to do the same.
Kloss’ sister, Kimberly Kloss was also one of models who walked in the show.
“You all rocked the runway,” Kloss said to the women at the end of the show. The group of women consisted of different body types and they were all in their early 20s.
The limited collection will range from $24.90 to $168.00.
