While visiting the site of the fatal apartment fire in London, Adele embraced the devastated city with open arms.
Early Wednesday morning a fire broke out at London’s Grenfell Tower. The horrific incident resulted in 12 deaths and more than 70 injured people. NBC News reported that over 250 firefighters worked together to put out the flames.
London Fire Brigade Commissioner Dany Cotton told NBC News, “In my 29 years of being a firefighter, I have never, ever seen anything of this scale. This is a major fire that’s affected all floors of the 24-story structure from the second floor upwards.”
Adele was joined by her husband, Simon Konecki, to show support for all those affected by the deadly fire. The singer was seen hugging fans and strangers while offering help to anyone who needed it.
Another London native and pop singer expressed her grief over the event. Rita Ora sent her prayers to the victims and their families in an emotional Instagram post.
“This is my neighborhood I can’t believe this is happening,” Ora said. “I want to do all that I can do to help.” Ora also visited the site and assisted in handing out donations and supplies to the victims.
