Nick Jonas’ new music video for “Remember I Told You” was released on Tuesday, an idea that blossomed last summer.
While on tour with Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas teamed up with fellow musician Mike Posner to write the song. The video was directed by Isaac Rentz who has also worked with groups such as 5 Seconds of Summer, Blink-182, and Paramore. Rentz’ video was shot at 1 Big Stage in Glendale, California.
In an interview with E! News, Jonas explains that the song is about a relationship “just on the edge and you’re disappointed that it could have been something special, but it didn’t happen.”
Anne-Marie, who joined the project after the song was written, also told E! News that her best ideas come from breakups and heartache. “When I’m happy in a relationship I’ve got nothing to write about. To be honest, I’d rather just be breaking up with people…” said the singer.
Jonas revealed that the while filming the video, the most important thing was feeling comfortable to be themselves. “It’s a group, but it’s in a space where we can really be free to be who we are and have that speak to the audience, and just have some fun.”
