Just last Friday, June 2nd, Fifth Harmony released their new song “Down” which features rapper, Gucci Mane. The group has done a lot of promotion for the song from a Good Morning America performance to several interviews. In less than a week, Fifth Harmony has released the music video for “Down”.
The music video for “Down” takes place at a motel in the night time. The members of the group, Dinah Jane Hansen, Ally Brooke Hernandez, Lauren Jauregui, and Normani Kordei, all have their own scenes in the verses when they’re are singing and then the four girls dance and sing together during the chorus. Gucci Mane also appears in the video during his verse. The standout of this music video is the choreography. Anyone who watched the Good Morning America performance of “Down” might have recognized it was practically the same choreography. In the music video, the girls all do a lot of dancing and execute it very well. Perhaps Kordei, who was recently on Dancing With The Stars taught everyone in the group some new dance moves.
The “Down” music video is the first music video Fifth Harmony has made and released since Camilla Cabello’s departure from the group. The “Down” music video shows that Cabello’s departure isn’t affecting the group as the new quartet is performing a lot better and are arguably sounding better. However despite Fifth Harmony’s improvement, Cabello is doing very well on her own. Cabello’s sounds very good on her new song “Crying in the Club” and did a good performance of the song on the Billboard Music Awards. Perhaps Fifth Harmony and Cabello are better off without each other.
