Amanda Bynes just announced she wants to act again, and Hilary Duff recently returned to TV in Darren Star’s Younger. The latest former-child star planning her comeback is Lindsay Lohan.
Lohan, who hasn’t had a major role since 2014, is set to star in season two of Sick Note, a British comedy, alongside Harry Potter alum Rupert Grint, Nick Frost and Don Johnson. Season 1 comes out this fall, while Season 2 is set to come out in early 2018 on Sky’s Now TV streaming service.
Rupert Grint will play an insurance rep who fakes a misdiagnosed illness and Lohan will come aboard as his boss’ s daughter.
“Filming for series two is already under way and we’re delighted to confirm Lindsay Lohan will be joining Rupert and Nick in this stellar comedy cast,” said Jon Mountague, Sky’s head of comedy in an interview with Variety.
Lohan recently spoke with E!News about her 3-year hiatus from the limelight, saying it was necessary to take time off. Lohan focused on volunteering with children and spending time with loved ones.
“All of this stuff is really fun, but you have to take time for you,” she said.
