Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus have a very special friendship. Both Cyrus and Grande share many similarities such as getting their fame in the entertainment industry in as characters on TV networks, to becoming two of the most successful pop stars of the decade. Both pop stars have been friends for awhile and the “One Love Manchester” has strengthened that friendship to the extreme.
A moment that really established the Cyrus and Grande friendship was when Grande helped out Cyrus help raise money for Cyrus’ charity called The Happy Hippie Foundation. According to The Happy Hippie Foundation website “The Happy Hippie Foundation provides homeless youth, LGBTQ youth and other vulnerable populations with consistent support services, education and employment opportunities”. When Cyrus had backyard sessions, which are concerts in her backyard, Grande joined her in singing Crowded House’s “Don’t Dream It’s Over” to help raise awareness to the cause.
Before starting her performance, Cyrus discussed the time Grande helped her out saying “‘I started the Happy Hippie because I wanted to encourage people to fight for what is right, and that is how me and Ariana became close, as she was the first artist to say yes”. Cyrus later praised Grande saying “As humans we should always be who we say we are, and Ariana has proved that. She says she’s a good role model for all your girls here and she has proved that by putting that together.”
Both Cyrus and Grande eventually performed “Don’t Dream It’s Over” at “One Love Manchester”. The two danced on the stage and had a very beautiful performance on stage.
