In September 2006, the world lost its beloved animal conservationist, Steve Irwin. Earlier this week, Terri Irwin took to Twitter and expressed her love for her husband on what would have been on their 25th wedding anniversary.
‘I miss you so very much, and I am grateful every day for the time we had together,” she wrote. Her post was accompanied by a black-and-white photo of the two kissing while balancing a lizard on their heads.

Terri and Steve’s love blossomed in 1991 while she was visiting the Crocodile Environmental Park now known as Australia Zoo. The couple married on June 2, 1992 and took charge of Australia Zoo which is still owned by Terri. Steve and Terri also had two children together-daughter Bindi, 18, and son Robert, 13.
The father of two passed away during the filming of television series Ocean’s Deadliest and his daughter’s show, Bindi the Jungle Girl. He was fatally struck in the heart by a stingray while snorkeling at Batt Reef off Port Douglas, Queensland.
Terri spoke to The Australian Woman’s Weekly last year and explained how the love between her and her husband still lives on. ‘I have not been on a single date since Steve died,’ she said.
In an interview for Access Hollyowood, Steve’s daughter praises her parents’ love and marriage. ‘If you’ve found your soulmate you don’t really want to move on, and mum had her soulmate.’ The Dancing With the Stars winner continues to spread her father’s message of wildlife conservation.
