Britney Spears has just raised $1 million dollars for the Nevada Childhood Cancer foundation, through her “Piece Of Me” concert ticket sales in Las Vegas as well as other donors such as Zappos, Live Nation, Elizabeth Arden and Caesars Entertainment.
The foundation will open its new 16,000 square-foot facility called the Britney Spears Campus on Monday July 17th and will accommodate the needs of adults and children. A celebration of the grand opening is scheduled for some time in October.
Britney Spears in a statement has called this her proudest career moment when talking to ET. “There are many things I’ve done in my career that I am proud of but none more than this. The fact that I was able to use my celebrity status to raise the money to build this incredible facility to help sick children and their families when they need it the most not only brings many tears to my eyes, but really brings tremendous meaning to this amazing journey that I’ve been on”.
The pop singer using her celebrity status and money from her Las Vegas concerts to help a cause that effects many children and adults shows us how humble she is, definetely makes fans of the singer love her even more.
She even spoke about how meaningful this cause is to her. “My aunt Sandra died of Cancer and I know the devistating effects that this terrible disease brings upon its victims and their loved ones”. Spears aunt had passed away back in 2007.
Britney Spears will conclude her Las Vegas Residency on December 31st, and raising money through these performances was a great way to end the last 4 years of the “Piece Of Me” Concerts.
