Leave it to Lena Dunham to turn her wardrobe into a political statement.
The outspoken actress is selling 169 items from her closet on the luxury consignment site, The RealReal, and is donating the proceeds to Planned Parenthood.

Items include $75 graphic t-shirts, a polka-dotted Saint Laurent wrap dress, and the plaid one-shoulder Elizabeth Kennedy gown she wore to this year’s Met Gala, worth $4000.
It is no surprise that Dunham chose to partner with Planned Parenthood, as she has been transparent about fighting for women’s reproductive rights. Dunham even directed a video earlier this year, where she gathered celebs like Meryl Streep and Mindy Kaling to talk about the history of the organization.
Dunham has also been vocal about her opinions of the fashion industry. After receiving criticism for how she dresses, Dunham clapped back saying that fashion is frivolous and has never been a priority of hers.
“Fashion is fun but sometimes I’d rather not spend 3 hours and lots of cash I could give to charity or spend on books and food to get ready to go out,” Dunham said in an Instagram post in March.
No wonder she decided to get rid of all those clothes.
The items went up for sale yesterday, and WWD reported that most items sold within a few hours and generated $26,275 in sales, 30 percent of which will go to the charity.
