The dynamic directing duo are back at it! A decade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has come to an end as directors Anthony and Joe Russo announce that they have officially started filming Avengers 4.
The start of filming was announced by a cryptic post on the Russo Brother’s official Facebook page that reads “Beginning the end,” joined with a teaser image of a glove holding up four fingers.
Avengers 4 is different from previous projects in the superhero franchise in one frustrating way: it’s the only one without a title. Originally named Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2, the subtitle was dropped and the project has yet to receive an official title. In an earlier interview with CinemaBlend, Marvel president Kevin Feige explains the reasoning behind the projects secretive title, and that is because the name itself will be a spoiler of what’s to come.
Avengers 4 opens in theaters on May 3, 2019. It follows Avengers: Infinity War, which hits theaters on May 4, 2018.
