If you haven’t watched The Handmaid’s Tale yet, then start watching because Season 1 was just the beginning.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Elisabeth Moss, whose bone-chilling performance as Handmaid Offred in the adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name left audiences stunned, talked about producing a 13 Emmy nominated show and what to expect next season.
“When you’re on the inside of something, you can’t help but feel differently,” Moss elaborates when asked about being the producer of an Emmy nominated show. “I feel so proud of each and every one of those nominations as if they were my own.”
Moss also touched upon the shows cultural meaning and reflection of current events.
“We wanted to make something that reflects us back upon ourselves,” Moss says. “If that parallel is useful to people, if it can provide strength or illumination or a conversation, then that’s a gift.”
When asked about what fans can expect in Season 2, Moss left people wanting more.
“I can say this: There is literally no way that anyone can guess what happens. You can try, but you won’t do it,” Moss teases after revealing that the outline for the first episode is “f—cking ridiculous.”
“We have no intention of doing anything else than being even more balls to the wall than we were in season 1,” Moss concludes.
All of Season 1 is streaming on Hulu now, so if you’ve been putting it off for later, it’s probably best to binge now before Season 2 (and spoilers!) comes out.
