Bieber’s representatives gave an explanation at first, but yesterday Bieber took to Instagram to offer a more heart-felt explanation for his decision.
“Learning and growing hasn’t always been easy, but knowing I’m not alone has kept me going,” he writes, offering some insight into his mentality at the moment. “I have let my insecurities get the best of me at times.”
The main reason Bieber, however, deals with his fear of burning himself out, both professionally and personally.
“Me taking this time right now is me saying I want to be SUSTAINABLE,” he continues in his post. “I want my career to be sustainable, but I also want my mind, heart and soul to be sustainable. So that I can be the man I want to be, the husband I eventually want to be and the father I want to be.”
It’s no secret that Bieber has led a pretty controversial career. From the drama that stemmed from his relationship with Selena Gomez to getting banned from China, Bieber is open about the mistakes he has made in the past.
Bieber writes, “I’m VERY aware I’m never gonna be perfect, and I’m gonna keep making mistakes, but what I’m not gonna do is let my past dictate my future…”
Despite this, Bieber’s hit with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, “Despacito” is still the bop of the summer, over-powering the airwaves.
