From hacking into social media accounts to leaking nude photos, people are always looking for new ways to expose top celebrities, and it’s pretty wild.
On Monday, Aug. 28, Selena Gomez’s Instagram account was hacked, with those behind it posting nude pictures of Justin Bieber for her 125 million followers to see. According to Variety, the photos and Gomez’s account were swiftly taken down and minutes later, the account was reinstated and re-secured; the nude photos were deleted.
The photos were the same images that were published after Bieber’s trip to Bora Bora in 2015. The originals were censored and published by the New York Daily News, which led to the uncensored versions to be spread online. Bieber felt “super violated” and felt like he couldn’t “step outside and feel like I can go outside naked” according to an interview with Access Hollywood in 2015.

This photo scandal comes after years of an on-again-off-again relationship between Gomez and Bieber that officially started in 2011. Gomez and Bieber have written many songs about their doomed relationship from Gomez’s “What The Heart Wants” to Bieber’s “Sorry,” but both have seemed to move on before this latest scandal. Gomez is currently dating The Weeknd, coming out with new music, and being cast in a new Woody Allen movie. Bieber dropped what might be the best end of summer jam, “Friends,” and is currently taking a break from his tour for a much needed break.
Hopefully, these nude photos don’t turn into an even bigger scandal. We already have enough to think about with Taylor Swift’s new music video.
