Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston have graced magazine covers as one of Hollywood’s most loved couples.
The couple began their romance on the set of Wanderlust in 2012 and married in 2015. However, the two could have met years earlier. According to Theroux, he was set to audition for the hit 90s sitcom Friends back when he lived in New York City. But the actor explained that he never went to his audition.
“I didn’t bother. I slept in that day. I wouldn’t have been prepared for [the fame].”
Had Theroux landed a role on Friends, he would have worked alongside his now wife Aniston whose career skyrocketed with the success of the popular TV series.
With such great success came an immense amount of tabloid and paparazzi coverage on Aniston and her personal life. Theroux spoke to Mr. Porter’s Journal about his thoughts on media scrutiny and how his wife handles it.
“For the most part, it’s not as pervasive in our lives as people think. Occasionally you’ll get whacked by something. It’s definitely something you have to analyze and come to terms with. Which I think [my wife] has done very elegantly and pretty effortlessly.”
The Leftovers star also talked about how Aniston has helped with his screenwriting skills. “When it’s not funny, she calls me out. She says, ‘That’s not funny,’” he said.
Theroux expressed his appreciation for his wife’s honesty. “Why would a man be intimidated by a funny woman? In a perfect world, a relationship is two people laughing together.”
It’s great to see how well the two work together as colleagues and a married couple!
