“Ant-Man” fans rejoice! Marvel has recently announced that production for “Ant-Man and the Wasp” has officially begun. The studio released a 14-second long video on YouTube announcing the production of the upcoming film.
Paul Rudd will reprise his role as the titular superhero, along with Evangeline Lilly, Michael Peña, Michael Douglas who will also be playing the same roles in the original 2015 film. Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer, Abby Ryder Fortson, Tip “T.I.” Harris, and David Dastmalchian will also return for their supporting roles.
New faces that will also be joining the cast for the sequel are Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, Hannah John-Kame, Walton Goggins, and Randall Park.
In the upcoming film, Rudd’s character, Scott Lang struggles with the consequences of the choices he made as both a superhero and a father following the events of “Captain America: Civil War.” When he attempts to regain balance in both his home life and his responsibilities as Ant-Man, Hope van Dyke (Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas) confront him with a new mission. Scott once again puts on his suit and fights alongside the Wasp to uncover secrets from their past.
“Ant-Man and The Wasp” is produced by Kevin Feige with Stan Lee, Louis D’Eposito, Victoria Alonso, Stephen Broussard, and Charles Newirth serving as the executive producers.
“Ant-Man and the Wasp” is set to hit theatres on July 6, 2018.
