Information about the Spirder-Man spin-off has been kept hidden, but according to Movie Web, characters such as She-Venom, or Ann Weying, have been possibly been cast at this point. The main villain of the film, Carnage, is still up for grabs, and it was rumored that this is the role that Ahmed may be cast in.
Ahmed’s inclusion into the film wouldn’t be something out of the ordinary. Other films the accomplished actor has starred in include Rogue One, Nightcrawler, and The Night Of. Ahmed was also nominated for Golden Globe Awards and SAG Awards for his performance in The Night Of.
All speculation aside, what is currently known about the film is that it stars Tom Hardy (hopefully we’ll get to see his face) who will be playing the role of Venom. Sony has also stated that Venom will be separate from the Spider-Man universe, standing as its own.
Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner will be writing the script for the film, with Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach serving as producers. Venom is currently set to begin shooting in fall, and is expected to be released on October 5, 2018.
