Shailene Woodley Considers Politics

Golden Globe Nominee and star of HBOs Big Little Lies, Shailene Woodley has been thinking of going into politics. In her New York Times interview she gave hints that her next career choice might be on capital hill.

“There was a time last year when I was working for Bernie Sanders where I thought ‘Huh maybe I’ll run for Congress in a couple years,'” she said. “And you know what? I’m not going to rule it out. Who knows? Life is big and I’m young.”

The actress has been very vocal about political issues this year so it comes as no suprise that she is thinking of trying to enter that area. This year Woodley has been protesting on certain topics such as Climate Change and the Dakota Access Pipeline. She even got handcuffed for the protest.

the fijian community speaking truth to power, holding their reps accountable to the effects of climate change. i asked a local woman why this issue was so important to her, why she is up so early to protest: "we must. our islands are literally sinking because of the rising oceans". we in expansive countries don't see the immediate effects of climate change: rising sea levels, droughts, decreased agricultural ability… but here, in fiji, as well as in many other parts of the world, the effects are instant. every dollar we spend and choice we make in our respective nations affect others in varying places on the planet. vote with your dollar. use your voice. stand against climate change. not just for your local community and your family, but for the whole world. we MUST rise up together. this is a WHOLE EARTH problem, and what we do with our daily actions and how we hold ourselves accountable to change is the ONLY answer. #earthneedsusnow #riseup #uptous #fiji #climatechange #cop23
