The main objective of The Bachelorette is to find love however throughout the season there is always drama that arises and The Bachelorette: Men Tell All special always dives deep into the drama. 18 contestants on this season of The Bachelorette reunited to discuss some of the most controversial moments and people of the season.
On The Bachelorette: Men Tell All, viewers were reminded of the several shocking and/or ridiculous moments of the season such as Blake and Lucas also known as Whaboom’s rivalry, Demario’s girlfriend showing up to confront Demario, Iggy’s tendency to stir the pot and Kenny and Lee’s rivalry. There was’t much discussion about Vhaboom, Demario just continued to play himself when discussing the incident of his girlfriend showing up on the show, there was not much talk about Iggy just a side eye from Josiah. The main topic of conversation was about this season’s villain, Lee.
Lee admitted to making up lies about Kenny and apologized for being a bad friend and being inconsiderate to the other guys and Rachel. Lee’s apologies were being well received until he was put on the hot seat where host, Chris Harrison, confronted him on racist and sexist tweets he’s made. The men were very angry with one tweet Lee made which compared the NAACP to the KKK. The men bombarded Lee with questions on why he would make such offensive statements. Lee’s explanation for his statements was that he was not educated on the issues and he could see how people would see these statements as being racist. After more people explained to Lee on why his statements were wrong, Lee apologized saying “I’m sorry for saying things when I was not educated and ignorant in those subjects.”
After Lee’s time in the hot seat, one of this season’s fan favorite’s, Dean, got to discuss his intense hometown date and controversial elimination. Dean was thankful for The Bachelorette as it help made him be able to talk to his dad about previous family issues. Dean still felt betrayed by Rachel when she did not give him a final rose.
Lastly, this season’s Bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay, took the hot seat to discuss her thoughts on the season as well as for her contestants to question her decisions. Rachel criticized Lee for his lies throughout the season as well as the racist and sexist tweets he made. Rachel threw shade at Demario saying “who?” when Chris Harrison asked about Demario. Rachel also explained to Dean she meant it when she said she was falling in love with him. Overall a lot of issues were addressed and it will be exciting to find out next week who is Rachel’s fiancé.
Here are some tweets that accurately represented what it felt like watching this week’s The Bachelorette.
