The Controversial Jackie Onassis Kim Kardashian West photoshoot

Who can forget the heavy criticism that sparked when a Cosmopolitan cover called the Kardashians the First Family during the Obama administration in 2015? Well, they’ve done it again! Kim Kardashian West made headlines this week by posing as Jackie Onassis for Interview Magazine.

In an issue also featuring Michelle Obama, Kim Kardashian West channels Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis for a cover shoot. The cover headline reads “America’s new first lady Kim Kardashian West and her daughter North West.” According to the cover, the interview was conducted by Janet Mock and the cover was shot by Steven Klein.

The article labels Kim Kardashian West as the American Dream. And continues to give a play-by-play of Kardiashian West’s life throughout the decade of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and everything from Caitlyn Jenner, to various ex-boyfriends and friends.

Kardashian West is styled in what appears to be an homage to Jackie Onassis, one of the most iconic First Ladies.

Naturally, the world completely lost it and another Kardashian West frenzy was born. Kardashian West got slammed for the cover. One person tweeted,

When we start comparing Kim Kardashian to Jackie Kennedy we have officially failed as a country

It appears that Kardashian West looks darker than usual on the cover and in the photoshoot, and this is part of the controversy.

We have lost track of the myriad times the Kardashian-Jenner family has gotten backlash for participating in some questionable photo shoot, music video, advertisement (the list goes on and on and on). However, you have to give them props, they always come back swinging and stronger, and somehow very thankful for the experience.
