According to Deadline, Chris Pine is set to portray Robert F. Kennedy in an unnamed limited series for Hulu. With the John F. Kennedy assassination limited series, which starred James Franco, 11.22.63, Hulu has started a new era of high-end original scripted programming.
The limited series will be based on Larry Tye’s best-selling political biography, Bobby Kennedy: The Making Of A Liberal Icon, which illustrates Kennedy as a “cynical White House insider and romantic visionary.” The book also includes intimate interviews, access to unpublished memoirs, unreleased government files, and boxes of secret Kennedy papers.
According to Variety, Pine is also set to be an executive producer on the project.
Pine is currently filming David MacKenzie’s Outlaw King, and will next be seen in Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle In Time. He also teamed up with Wonder Woman’s Patty Jenkins again for the 6-episode straight-to-series One Day She’ll Darken for TNT. Pine is also known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk in all three new Star Trek films.
With his versatility and acting abilities, this new series will be a must-see.
