Apparently Disney is looking to remake the Halloween cult-classic, Hocus Pocus, and people have thoughts.
The 1993 classic follows Max Dennison, a teen-virgin who lights the black candle and resurrects 17th century witches known as the Sanderson Sisters. Winifred (Bette Midler), Mary (Kathy Najimy) and Sarah Sanderson (Sarah Jessica Parker) attempt to suck the souls out of all the children in Salem to stay alive and youthful, and must be stopped by Max, his sister, Dani, and an immortal-teen-turned-cat Thackary Binx. There is also a scene where Midler belts out a show-stopping number at a Halloween party, and the movie is full one-liners that all millennials can relate to.
The remake, TV movie will be written by Scarlett Lacey (The Royals) and will be produced by the original producer for Hocus Pocus, David Krichner, but will not involve the original director, Kenny Ortega, and will recast the iconic characters.
People of course have lots to say.
