Fans are use to seeing Gisele Bündchen either smiling or “smizing” down the runway. Yet, at this year’s Rock in Rio Festival, she let some other emotions shine through.
During Friday’s performances, the native Brazilian got emotional right before performing John Lennon’s “Imagine” with lead performer and Brazilian singer Ivete Sangalo. Bündchen, an amateur singer/musician, joined performers in an effort to raise environmental awareness. She broke down when introducing the song.
“If we are all capable of imagining, we are all capable of creating, so imagine the world you want to live in,” Bündchen said through tears in Portugese. “Imagine we are already living in it. Imagine.”
She and Sangalo then proceeded to sing their rendition of “Imagine” to an enthusiastic crowd, who sang along with them. Bündchen’s husband, Tom Brady, showed his support via Instagram. With his team, the New England Patriots, starting the season he couldn’t be there personally to see the performance.
Bündchen also took to Instagram on Friday to share this inspirational message.
“Together we are stronger,” she wrote. “Together we can change our story. Together we can change the world. Open your heart. Feel the love expanding within you, because it is only through LOVE that we will transform our world.”
Juntos somos mais fortes. Juntos a gente muda uma história. Juntos nós podemos mudar o mundo. Abra seu coração. Sinta o AMOR expandindo dentro de você, porque é só através dele que a gente vai transformar o mundo. @believe.earth #believeearth #rockinrio ❤️ Together we are stronger. Together we can change our story. Together we can change the world. Open your heart. Feel the love expanding within you, because it is only through LOVE that we will transform our world.
With stars like Bündchen, maybe it’s not too far-fetched to imagine this world.
