Easy, breezy, beautiful…Issa Rae!

That’s right, the co-creator and star of Insecure is the new face of CoverGirl. In her Instagram to commemorate the occasion, she wrote:

“I remember being an awkward black girl in high school, reading the pages of my favorite magazines, casually flipping through @COVERGIRL ads, singing their slogan in my head. Never EVER in my life did I imagine I’d be one. I am SO honored and SO excited for what’s to come.”

The actress added, according to The Hollywood Reporter, that her “character is ever-evolving, and makeup is a tool to help transform my persona — whether for a role I play in content that I produce, or the different roles I take on in my life.”

Obviously fans are here for it.

This beauty gig comes off the success of Insecure’s season two finale, and years of hard work. She rose to fame for her comedy web series, Awkward Black Girl, which premiered on Youtube in 2011. Rae also has a New York Times best-seller, The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl,” her memoir that came out in 2015, and is currently working on a new comedy, Minimum Wage.

Rae joins other CoverGirl ambassadors, Zendaya, Sofia Vergara, Janelle Monáe and Katy Perry.
