Actor-brothers James and Dave Franco are finally in a movie together — dreams do come true!
Sitting down with Entertainment Weekly, PEOPLE, and InStyle’s studio at the Toronto International Film Festival, Dave Franco revealed why it took so long for them to collaborate.
“I don’t know, I didn’t want people to think I was riding his coattails. I just wanted to do my own thing,” he said. “To be completely honest, when I was first starting out, everyone knew who [James] was and so I just made a choice that I just wanted to do my own thing for a little while.”
James and Dave Franco teamed up to star in The Disaster Artist, which is about the cult catastrophe known as The Room. It follows how the movie was made, which has been named “The Greatest Bad Movie Ever.”
James Franco, who also directs the movie, plays Tommy Wiseau, while Dave Franco portrays Greg Sestero. Both brothers felt like this movie was the “right dynamic” to showcase their individual talents. The movie also stars Seth Rogen, Alison Brie, Ari Graynor, Jacki Weaver and Josh Hutcherson.
Whatever the movie may be, we’re just happy to see the Franco brothers together on the big screen.
