Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr is here — and she already has a Gram Slam Title (from inside the womb of course!).
On Wednesday morning, Serena Williams took to Instagram to debut her daughter with fiancé, Alexis Ohanian, to the world. They also shared a cute, almost 3-minute video of their journey.
In the clip, Williams said that they were leaving the hospital after six or seven days.
“It’s been a long time, but we had a lot of complications, but look who we got — we got a baby girl!” Williams says in the video.
According to PEOPLE, sister Venus Williams is “super excited,” for the birth of her niece, as she told reporters minutes before playing in her U.S. Open match in Queens, New York.
Alexis Jr. was born on Friday, Sept. 1 in West Palm Beach, Florida, and weighed 6 lbs., 14 oz. The couple opted to wait to find out the sex of the baby, but knew somehow that it was going to be a girl.
“[Serena] won the Australian Open while pregnant. And she remarked that she feels like it has to be a girl because everything that that baby went through and handled like a champ, only a woman could be strong enough to take on,” Ohanian recalled on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in early August.
So will Alexis Jr. take after her mother? Only time will tell.
