Congratulations is in order for the Grand Slam champion — Serena Williams has given birth to a baby girl.

Serena revealed in April that she was pregnant, posting a selfie on Snapchat with the caption “20 weeks” and later confirming that she and fiancé Alexis Ohanian were expecting their first child.

She learned she was pregnant just days before the Australian Open began. For her 23rd Grand Slam singles title, Serena beat big sister Venus in the final.

Her sister also confirmed the birth during an interview before her match at the US Open on Friday, September 1st. When Venus was asked about becoming an aunt to Serena’s baby girl she said, “Obviously I’m super excited, words can’t describe.”

Serena’s coach Patrick Mouratoglou announced on his verified Twitter account, “Congratulations @SerenaWilliams for your baby girl. I am so happy for you and I feel your emotion. Recover well & enjoy without limitation.”

The US Open also congratulated Williams on its Twitter page, “@serenawilliams won a new title on Day 5 at the #USOpen: Mom.”
