The upcoming film “Justice League” is now expected to draw in at least $110 million during its opening weekend. The film stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, and Ray Fischer as the DC comic heroes. The film, directed by Zak Snyder from a script by Chris Terrio, began production in April of 2016 and will premiere on November 17th.
“Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” starring Affleck and Cavill as the respective superheroes, the film briefly alluded to the upcoming Justice League, introducing actress Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and “Game of Thrones” star Jason Momoa as Aquaman. According to Fandango polls, both Gadot and Momoa are the two stars that fans are the most excited to see in the film. Gadot recently starred in the DC film “Wonder Woman,” which was the second highest grossing film of the year, coming in at $412 million. Momoa is set to star in his own Aquaman film in 2018.
The Warner Brothers-DC film is currently competing against Disney-Marvel’s “Thor: Ragnarok,” which is estimated to gross about $100 million on it’s opening weekend of November 3rd. Despite October’s negative moviegoer presence, both films are expected to draw in huge numbers to box offices. 56% of moviegoers have rated “Justice League” as a “definite choice,” according to film industry domestic estimates.
