Miley Cyrus Meets Hillary Clinton For The First Time On ‘The Tonight Show’

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon | YouTube

It was a big night for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as Hillary Clinton herself was featured as a special guest on the show.

Most are familiar with the fan-favorite “Thank You Notes” segment that Jimmy Fallon has used on his talk show since he was hosting Late Night. This time, the “Thank You Notes” segment featured the female writers for The Tonight Show expressing their gratitude to the former secretary of state in person for her contribution to society in her political career — some funny, some heartfelt.

After the TV writers finished, Fallon announced that another person would like to come out and write a thank you note and Miley Cyrus walked out on stage. If you remember back in the election year, Cyrus was very vocal and active in her support for Hillary Clinton and posted a video of her devastation when she lost the election. Miley then proceeds to write her heartwarming thank you note, trying to hold back tears:

“Thank you, Hillary, for being a constant beacon of strength, hope, and determination for me and millions of other young women. You’ve been a role model and an inspiration and a voice of reason in uncertain times. I could go on and on, but I’d like to get right to the point… Can I give you a hug?”

The two then hugged it out and Hillary asks if she could write one too, even quoting one of Miley’s own songs:

“Thank you, Miley, the Tonight Show writers, and all of the women and young girls out there. You are smart, strong, and deserving of every opportunity. Together, we’ve made our voices heard, we’ve done great things, and we’ve come a long way. But as Miley would say, we can’t stop, and we won’t stop.”

Later that night, Cyrus posted on Instagram sharing her excitement, expressing she will “never forget” this moment.
