After enduring a kidney transplant earlier this year, Selena Gomez is finally ready to return to the stage.
People reported today that her first performance after her lupus-related surgery will be at the 2017 American Music Awards, where the 25 year old will perform her new single “Wolves.” Gomez is no stranger to the annual event; she won the award for Favorite Female Artist in 2016, and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhX0bbrRnF4″>performed her song “Same Old Love” at 2015’s award show.

She disclosed the news through an apology to her fans on Instagram, stating that she was well aware that some fans had “noticed [she] was laying low…and questioning why [she] wasn’t promoting [her] new music.” She shared the heartfelt message along with a picture of her friend and kidney donor, Francia Raisa, and a link to the Lupus Research Alliance website, a cause that Gomez has assisted in raising more than $500,000.
The 2017 American Music Awards, held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, will air Sunday, November 19th on ABC at 8 p.m.
