Model Karlie Kloss Apologizes For Geisha Themed Photoshoot With Vogue

Generated by IJG JPEG Library

Karlie Kloss apologized Wednesday morning for appearing in a “culturally insensitive” yellowface fashion shoot in Vogue Magazine’s March issue.

In the photo, Kloss is in a Japanese spa resort with black hair and traditional Japanese “geta” sandals. In one of the photos, she’s joined by a sumo wrestler; in another unpublished photo shared on Instagram by photographer Mikael Jansson, Kloss appears in white makeup, similar to the wax that geishas wear.

#karliekloss styled like a #geisha for #vogue is for you a disrespectful thing?
