Natalia Vodianova Is The Face Of H&M New Conscious Collection

H&M (Hennes & Mauritz) has chosen Russian model Natalia Vodianova to be the ambassador for their new Conscious Exclusive Collection. The campaign released today showing Vodianova wearing a blush pink dress made from recycled polyester made using plastic waste from the shoreline. In the video The Journey of a Dress, Vodianova says that “Plastic pollution is a global issue” but “through recycling, waste can be reborn into something beautiful.” The maxi dress feature pleats and a wavy texture that resembles the waves of the ocean and it will introduce more pieces to go with the theme, such as the fishnet bag.

H&M launched their Conscious Collection in 2011 which uses recycled and organic materials to provide consumers with a more sustainable option and for the retailer to experiment with materials that could be used for their main product lines. Besides from women and men apparel, H&M will introduce the Conscious Collection for children apparel and a perfume made organic oils as well.

The Conscious Collection is set to go on sale for April 20, 2017 in 160 H&M stores and online.

We can’t wait to see the entire collection!

@hm #HMConsciousExclusive 🌊🌱❤️ 🇬🇧 I am proud to announce that I am starring this years’ #HMConsciousExclusive campaign @hm ! Here’s the first sneak peek of my favourite dress made from plastic shoreline waste. 🍃🌊🤗
