NYFW has been either a hit or miss for a lot of designers this season. Walking into Philipp Plein’s show guests received a paper that read, ‘Let’s Make NYFW Great Again’. Plein made his fashion week debut and visibly wanted to come in with a bang. That he did.
His show went down yesterday Feb. 13th, at the New York Public Library, and viewers were greeted with an over the top New York experience. Leading into the show there was both an Elvis impersonator and the Naked Cowboy. Oh, and we can’t forget the rows of models dressed up as the Statue of Liberty. It seemed as if it was an all around American theme, but with a twist.
As if the show and theme weren’t enough to have Plein be the designer everyone’s talking about this week; he had a slew of guests and models that pretty much made him this weeks show to watch.
The moment everyone’s been talking about is having seen ‘Hot Mug Shot Guy’, Jeremy Meeks make his runway debut by opening the show.
After having his mug shot go viral, Meeks became a topic of fascination on the internet, and now, he’s a runway model. Anything’s possible. Other big names that hit the runway last night were Desiigner, Fetty Wap, Sofia Richie, Pete Wentz, Anwar Hadid, and more.
Musical performances were done by Nas and The Kills.
Guests included Kylie Jenner, Tyga, Madonna, Dascha Polanco, and so many more.
