The Go Go boot, which came about during the 1960s, was inspired by the colorful, futuristic “mod” styles of the era. It was originally made out of PVC, a stretchy, plastic-looking fabric that is available in bright colors and resists water.
The style, which was traditionally tall and contained zippers and block heels, has been updated this season in shorter, edgier versions and a variety of fabrics.
Maison Margiela released a pair of denim mod boots, while Miu Miu released a white patent pair adorned with silver buckles. Since most of us don’t have the cash to drop on a pair of designer boots, I have found some more accessible options.
Below are some of this season’s seriously chic Go Go-inspired boots, available at retailers like TopShop, & Other Stories, and Steve Madden.
