In response to the hype that came from the fun fact, Ikea decided to indulge fans further by offering instructions on how to make your own cape to brace for winter. The illustrated DIY is exactly like assembling a piece of furniture from the Swedish superstore – all you need is a pair of scissors.

To get the “Stark” look, a Skold rug ($79), is required, with just a few snips through the middle, you’ll be looking like Jon Snow in no time.

During a panel at L.A.’s Getty museum, Clapton had explained the process that she went through to create the iconic capes. While the straightforward method that Ikea demonstrated is definitely great for someone looking who’s looking for a quick costume, what Clapton ends up doing is a little more advanced.

She said:

“We take anything we can; we cut and we shave them and then we added strong leather straps. I want the audience to almost smell the costumes.”

For anyone whose interested in making a GoT costume or cosplay, the rug and DIY instructions are definitely more than enough to help you out. Now you just need to find a giant sword somewhere.
