According to WWD, this fusion of the two distinctly different brands will feature the classic Vans’ checkerboard pattern revisited using a motif of Lagerfeld’s iconic profile, boucle fabric and a quilted letter K. The Vans footwear to be included are the Sk8-Hi laceless platform, Old Skool laceless styles in leather with the quilted letter-shaped detail on the white platform soles, and solid black leather classic Slip-On, also adorning a quilted K.

Besides Lagerfelds interpretation of the sneaker best known for it’s association with stoner/skate culture, the collaboration also includes a T-shirt with the image of Lagerfeld wearing a checkerboard tie, a black-and-white raglan sleeve bomber, and a premium leather bag with — you guessed it — the famous quilted K.

The footwear and apparel capsule is set to launch worldwide Sept. 7, with prices ranging from $40 to $300. The apparel will be presented in Berlin in early September during the Bread & Butter show, and will distributed in Karl Lagerfeld boutiques worldwide, in select Vans stores, and online for both brands.

This isn’t Vans first time taking advantage of the sneaker streetwear trend. The brand recently partnered with the L.A.-based label Enfants Riches Deprimes.
