Gwyneth Paltrow Adds Health Food Investor to Her Resume

Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle site Goop discusses beauty products containing carcinogens, how to throw a Kimchi party and how infrared saunas are good for the body.

The actress and wellness guru (a title that recently stirred up controversy) is now entering the food industry. She has partnered with Daily Harvest, a frozen meal kit company, to provide ready-to-eat smoothies, soups and oatmeal dishes created with farm-fresh, organic produce.

The goal of the company, Paltrow explained, is to give people access to nutritious prepared food with no preservatives.

“Most people don’t have access to farm fresh produce year-round and often times the produce available in the grocery store was picked before peak ripeness and then traveled a far distance to the store while its nutrients degraded,” Paltrow told People.

Paltrow, as a health nut, said she strongly resonated with the company’s product and mission.

Daily Harvest’s mission, according to the company’s site, is to “get superfood eats delivered to your door, frozen and ready to enjoy on your schedule.”

Customers can choose to purchase 6, 12 or 24 cups per week, at $7.99 per cup and can choose any combination of foods they want. Once the products arrive at their doorstep, all they need to do is add a liquid base and blend, soak or heat the cup as desired.
