The Fall/Winter Show for Bottega Veneta did something very interesting that is unique to runway shows that should be recognized. This trend is actually becoming a bit more common in the fashion industry, and that is the combination of menswear and womens-wear for a ready-to-wear collection. It is tradition for these two collection to be displayed separately, but now we are starting to see them blended together, and can create an even more complex story if the Creative Director sees fit.
Along with the combination of menswear and womens-wear we continue to see a blend of patterns and textures working together in this collection. Somethings like a particular color palette can become disjointed, and create a story separate from the beginning of the. The show itself seems like an evolution through time the started with past and works its way to the future.
Much of the collection had very detailed shoulder work, intense collars, and plunging necklines that showcase the many layers of a sexy sophisticated woman, and a well-polished man.
The collection showcased beautiful handbags that sported exotic style leather, and the traditional woven style that Bottega is known for. The craftsmanship of the accessories is something to be admired by anyone who appreciates the fine details in a collection.
