Lily Tomlin accepted the Lifetime Achievement award and awarded to her by Dolly Parton at the 23rd annual SAG Awards.
When Lily Tomlin was accepting the life achievement award, she said a lot of young actors ask her for advice and some of the things she advises is not to leave a house when you are drunk.
When you are drunk and you hear that your friends don’t talk to you but about you, like: “Did she have a purse?” Lily encouraged everyone who aspires success saying:
“…Behind every failure there is a opportunity someone wishes they have missed.”
She mentioned immigration issues, Chinese missiles, Dakota pipeline and LGBT. Lily added that she is very honored to be awarded the Lifetime Achievement award and will make a big entry into her gratitude journal. She concluded her speech saying:
“As long as I don’t have to audition I might just be back.”
