Netflix “Girlboss” Gets Cancelled – Details Here

Back in April, we all binge watched and gained an obsession of the show Girlboss, based on the best-selling book Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso, founder of Nasty Gal. It then left us all to wonder when will they start filming season 2. Well sadly the news broke that there is no season 2! I know what you’re thinking “you’ve got to be kidding me!”, same! If you were a real fan of Girlboss then I’m pretty sure you watched it more than once just like myself. Sophia Amoruso broke the news by saying:

“So that Netflix series about my life got canceled. While I’m proud of the work we did, I’m looking forward to controlling my narrative from here on out. It was a good show, and I was privileged to work with incredible talent, but living my life as a caricature was hard even if only for two months. Yes, I can be difficult. No, I’m not a dick. No, someone named Shane never cheated on me. It will be nice to someday tell the story of what’s happened in the last few years. Ppl read the headline, not the correction, I’ve learned.”

As well as Netflix cancelling other fan favorites, Chief Content Officer of the media company remarked on the matter, “Relative to what you spent, are people watching it? That is pretty traditional. When I say that, a big expensive show for a huge audience is great. A big, expensive show for a tiny audience is hard even in our model to make that work very long.”

Which I guess you can say makes sense but that’s obviously not what we want. Sophia let the show speak for her while letting the younger audience know that it’s okay to go through things and work hard for what you want to be able to get large in the little fashion world we have. She has a satisfying story. I guess we take what we can get! Thanks for the teaser Sophia.
